My favorite part of the book is when john n is talking about his father and about how he feels about him. I believe that this is important to the book. Because it shows johns character. “Hugs and kisses are rarity for me growing up, and when they did happen, they often stuck me as lifeless, something he did because he was supposed to, not because he wanted to” (Sparks 11)
This part of the book shows their feelings towards each other. I believe that john rebels growing up to get attention from his dad. His dad has problems showing his emotions. I predict that later in the they might change and become closer and actually start expressing their feelings toward each other.

That is sad that he didnt recieve much affection from his love ones during his childhood. I really like that quote I think it has a nice meaning and shows how John felt.

ReplyDeleteI like how your quote itself told me how John and his dad's relationship was. This reminds me of the movie,Elf, when Walter (the dad) barely had time for his son, Michael.<- (the younger boy not Buddy)
I remember that! Great comparison Christine! At the end John and his Father do get much closer than before.
