Dear John

John is off to his first leave. He is stationed in Germany. Although he didn’t know a word in German he wasn’t too worried about that. Once he came back to the United States he blew off all his money and stayed with a few buddies in Las Vegas. As usual john and his father were distant and didn’t care to communicate. I think that john wanted his dad to show some kind of compassion. John is the only child and his father seems to be in some other world. He doesn’t show his son that he truly cares for him. I believe that he does but he’s too scared to show love again. Since john’s mother did leave his dad it might be something that he is still dealing with. John is just a memory of his wife. He doesn’t want to get hurt again.

    Thats sad how John and his father don't even care with comunicating with each other...i think that they need to be colser since John doesn't have his mother by his side. The father should be more responsible on taking kare of John and by also having some communication at least.

    I agree with Deisy. That is really sad. I can't relate to him because I'm really close with my mom. We have great communication. However, I can connect this to Glee, like when Kurt and his dad weren't close because of his sexuality. Kurt's mom also died.

    That's very true Jazmine. I am also very close to my mom and i'm very forturnate to have her. John's dad has problems with opening up. When John introduces Savannah to his father he is very shy and awkward. Since John does usually introduce people to him so he feels weird.
